Pirate Hospitality at the PGA

Fascinating article: PGA Fights Golf's Off-Site Tents Offering `Pirate Hospitality':

Marketing executive Tony Cicatiello started receiving phone calls 18 months ago pitching the idea of treating his clients to a hospitality tent at this week's PGA Championship at New Jersey's Baltusrol Golf Club.

The salesman failed to mention that the tent wouldn't be on the club's grounds and that his $562-per-day guests would have to take a bus to see the action, says Cicatiello, 57, chairman of CN Communications in Newark, New Jersey, and a member of Baltusrol's board. PGA of America, which is staging the tournament, calls it “pirate hospitality.''

I love this part: (Cicatiello) says he never told the International Sports Management salesman who called him more than a dozen times that he is a Baltusrol board member.
