Dump to yield public golf course: A 200-acre hilltop, with striking views of both Manhattan and the bird-haunted Meadowlands, could become Bergen County's first new golf course in 24 years. The public course, which will be built atop a converted dump, is expected to open in 2011 under the joint operation of Bergen and Hudson counties, officials said Wednesday. Green fees would be comparable to those at Bergen County's four public courses – now $23 for weekend play for county residents.
