Mid-Amateur Championship to open Area Season
May 5 2006 in Events and Outings by thestarter
Asbury Park Press writes in Paduano preps for Mid-Amateur: It's the so-called “Working Man's” championship. No college kids or future golf professionals. Just a bunch of confirmed amateurs with day jobs battling it out in a match-play format. The New Jersey State Golf Association's Mid-Amateur Championship, for players 25-and-older, serves as the unofficial start to the competitive golf season in the area next week at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway. The strong field of 32 players from throughout the state, including six from the Shore area, begins play with the first two rounds next Monday, with the 36-hole final set for Wednesday.
