NJ Herald writes: John “Jack” Kurlander, whose ski resorts and golf courses have come to define the recreational industry in Sussex County over the last 40 years, died of a heart attack Monday. He was 76. A passionate inventor and salesman as a young man, Kurlander led the effort to create the county's first ski resort at Great Gorge in Vernon, three renowned golf courses, and what is today known as the Crystal Springs Spa and Golf Resort in Hardyston.
