Sam Weinman at The Journal News reports on a new local professional golf tour called the Freedom Tour:

For as much interest as the upstart Freedom Tour has already generated among local golf pros, there seems to be a fair amount of skepticism to go with it. According to tour director Brian Flanagan, a Tuckahoe native who currently teaches lessons at White Plains' Westchester Golf Range, weekly Freedom Tour events in Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey will feature purses of up to $20,000, all while charging players a mere $200 apiece. Flanagan said he already has commitments from some of the top area players, and he's already lined up courses for Monday events from April 3 straight through to Oct. 2.
