NJ.com – Long Valley’s private Black Oak Golf Club will tee off next month: The Black Oak Golf Club in Long Valley will open next month, a private 18-hole course seeking to become New Jersey’s first Audubon International Silver Signature Course, a designation given to environmentally sensitive courses by the nonprofit New York-based environmental group… The 300-acre course, designed by former National PGA Teacher of the Year David Glenz, was built so that water runoff is filtered through untreated grass, which has not been sprayed with any chemicals, before it flows into the course’s ponds. Much of the rough in between holes will not be mowed and will be fertilized only once a year.
