The Donald wants to host a U.S. Open:

Donald J. Trump does everything in a big way. He's waging the nastiest celebrity feud in years with Rosie O'Donnell. His hairstyle merits its own top-10 list from David Letterman. Now, the real estate mogul and burgeoning golf course developer is lobbying to land the nation's biggest golf tournament: the U.S. Open.

His 2-year-old Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., 35 miles west of New York City, was selected by the United States Golf Association last year to host the 2009 Junior Amateur and Girls' Junior Amateur championships. What the chairman and chief executive officer of the Trump Organization really wants is to bring the Open to Bedminster, his flagship club, built on the former private estate of late auto designer John DeLorean.
