Hyatt Hills: “it’s going to be a golf course for a long time”

Hyatt Hills

Hyatt Hills future is assured, although tax appeal looms: At the border of Cranford and Clark, Hyatt Hills Golf Course is something of a rarity for the area. Bordered by a residential neighborhood, an office park, manufacturing sites and retail stores, the golf course was built on top of a former ball bearing factory owned by the General Motors Corporation. When General Motors declared bankruptcy in 2009, Hyatt Hills was just one of the assets that the GM turned over to the newly formed Motors Liquidation Company and put on the auction block…

A public recreation facility on Raritan Road which includes a nine-hole golf course, a driving range, miniature golf course, and amenities including a full service restaurant, Hyatt Hills is run by an appointed commission of residents from both towns. Because the majority of the property falls within Clark, the majority of the commission members hail from that town.
