MyCentralJersey.com: As the summer tourism season starts to heat up, the Northern New Jersey chapter of Skal International is hosting a networking event June 19 at the U.S. Golf Association in Far Hills to bring together travel industry professionals, promoters and local colleges and universities. Skal (pronounced Skoal) is the largest professional travel and tourism organization in the world and is dedicated to promoting goodwill and friendship among those in the travel industry. Tourism movers and shakers — including Grace Hanlon, executive director, New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, and Jackie Morales, director, Somerset County Tourism — will be attending the event, according to Cathy Trementozzi, a South Plainfield resident and Skal member. The event is meant to build on the momentum begun when Somerset County’s Tourism campaign kicked off in January, organizers said.
