Via NorthJersey.com: The 18-hole semiprivate course in Franklin Lakes is scheduled to close within a few weeks… The fate of High Mountain, which opened in 1966, is part of a growing nationwide trend of course closings, and it isn’t the only Bergen County club to be shutting down this decade. Apple Ridge Country Club in Mahwah and Upper Saddle River was sold in June. Like High Mountain, plans call for the private 18-hole course, which also opened in 1966, to close in several years and be replaced by residences.
