Long Valley, NJ – For six years the developers of the Black Oak Golf Club have overcome a series of daunting obstacles, including the controversial Highlands Act, in pursuit of creating their “dream course”. The result will be a magnificent 7,100 yard, par 72 golf course that sits on 300+ spectacular acres of rolling hills nestled between Chester and Long Valley.
“We’re very excited to kick off the spring with our Open House on Saturday, May 22nd and show everyone what a fantastic golf course we have created,” said Bob Vreeland, Managing Partner at Black Oak. “We will be taking a limited number of people on a tour of the course so I suggest you visit our website to reserve your spot as soon as possible.” In addition to previewing the course, visitors can speak with the developers about membership opportunities and also attend FREE Swing and Fitness clinics.
An Intimate Golf Experience In The Heart Of The Country
David Glenz, Course Designer and Director of Golf at Black Oak, spent six years on the PGA Tour and played most of the best courses in the country. He was voted New Jersey PGA “Teacher of the Year” eight times. In 1998, he was voted National PGA “Teacher of the Year”. He has appeared on the Golf Channel, written over 50 articles for Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Golf Illustrated, Sports Illustrated and New Jersey Golf. “My lifetime goal has always been to design and build a golf course like this, where golf and nature truly commune. For the low handicapper, the course will stretch to almost 7,100 yards, with broad fairways winding through trees and along the ridgeline. Lakes and streams throughout the property are utilized to create both shot value and beauty. My guarantee is this… we will have 18 different holes that require shot value while being scenic and fun to play. Stately trees, open meadows and rolling fairways with vistas unobstructed by any visible housing will provide members with an unequalled golf experience. That’s what Black Oak has to offer. Come and visit us on May 22 – you won’t be disappointed.”
